ARGUS INTEL · WEEKLY BRIEF · TLP:AMBER CURSOR // WEEK OF MARCH 3, 2026

Intelligence Summary

Top insight: Cursor is building the scaffolding for AI agents to write software autonomously at scale. Code completion is now their baseline, not their product. The $2.3B raise at $29.3B isn't justified on prosumer revenue — it's justified on enterprise agent infrastructure that doesn't exist yet but will within 2 quarters.

Week of Mar 3, 2026

Cursor is executing a deliberate enterprise motion — SAML auth, enterprise sales hires, and a Teams pricing tier all shipped within the same 30-day window. This is coordinated, not coincidental.

Who it's for

Built for teams who can't afford surprises

Whether you're a solo founder or a strategy team, Argus gives you the same intelligence that big companies pay analysts $200K/year for.

🚀

Founders & CEOs

You're building the product and running the company. You don't have time to manually track 3 competitors across 8 channels. Argus does it while you sleep and tells you what actually matters on Friday morning.

Most common use case
🗺️

Product & Strategy Teams

Stop building features your competitors already shipped. Track their GitHub for technical direction, job postings for strategic bets, and pricing pages for positioning shifts — all in one weekly brief your whole team can read.

💼

Sales & Marketing

Know before a competitor announces a price cut, a new integration, or a feature that undercuts your pitch. Generate AI battlecards in one click, track win/loss outcomes to find patterns, and get Slack alerts the moment a high-importance signal drops — so you walk into every call prepared.

Know what they're building before they announce it.

CI teams using competitive intelligence report 22–95% win rate improvements. The difference isn't luck — it's knowing a competitor shipped enterprise auth before your next call, not after you lost the deal. Argus monitors 30+ sources continuously and tells you what it means, for $49/month with no sales call required.

Common questions

Why not just ask ChatGPT or Claude?
LLMs know what was on the internet at training time. Argus monitors live data — job postings from yesterday, a GitHub commit from this morning, a pricing page change from an hour ago. The intelligence is fresh and specific to your competitors, not general knowledge.
How is this different from Google Alerts?
Google Alerts gives you raw links. Argus monitors 4 signal types simultaneously (news, GitHub, jobs, website), AI-scores each one for strategic importance, and synthesizes everything into a narrative brief with roadmap predictions. It's the difference between a firehose and a weekly analyst call.
What if my competitors aren't on GitHub?
GitHub is optional. Argus still monitors news coverage, job postings (Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, generic /careers pages), and website changes for any company with a public web presence. Most meaningful intel comes from jobs and news anyway.
How accurate are the roadmap predictions?
Argus predicts based on patterns: who they're hiring, what's being committed to GitHub, what pages are changing, and what news is saying. These are leading indicators, not guarantees. Our analysis on Cursor correctly flagged enterprise expansion before it was announced, but treat predictions as informed hypotheses, not facts.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your dashboard anytime. No contracts, no annual commitment required. No credit card needed during the 14-day trial — we'll reach out before it ends.
What are battlecards and how do they work?
Battlecards are AI-generated one-pagers your sales team uses to win deals. Argus reads all recent signals for a competitor — pricing changes, GitHub activity, job postings, news — and Claude synthesizes them into 8 sections: strengths, weaknesses, objection responses, why you win, and what to watch for. One click, ready to paste into your deck.
How does the Slack bot work?
Once you connect Argus to your Slack workspace, your team can type /argus [company name] in any channel to pull the latest 5 signals for that competitor — right in Slack, no dashboard required. Great for sales calls or board meetings when you need a quick brief.
What's in the Dark intelligence tier?
Enterprise plans include sources that go deeper than public data: ransomware group leak site monitoring (know if your competitors are compromised before they announce it), LeakIX exposed service scanning, BGP/ASN infrastructure mapping, automated Google dork queries for exposed assets, and DeHashed credential breach search. These are legal OSINT sources — no hacking, just signals that most teams never think to check.
Are discounts available for students or nonprofits?
Yes, on a case-by-case basis. If you're a student, researcher, or running a nonprofit, reach out to hello@argusintel.net with a brief description of what you're working on. We're happy to work something out.
Can other people see which companies I'm tracking?
No. Your competitor list, signals, briefs, and battlecards are completely private to your account. Argus never shares, aggregates, or exposes what you're monitoring to other users or third parties.
Can I track any company, or only software companies?
Any company with a public web presence. Argus works best for tech and SaaS companies — where GitHub, job boards, and SEC filings are richest — but you can track any business that has a website, posts jobs publicly, or appears in news coverage.
S

Built by a founder, for founders

I built Argus after getting blindsided by a competitor's launch — something I could have predicted three months earlier by watching their job postings. I couldn't find a tool that did this without a $20K/year enterprise contract, so I built one. This is what I wish I'd had when I was managing competitive strategy manually.

Questions? I read every email — hello@argusintel.net
